Another weekend of The Pits for weather
More Crap Weather - the 80s were short lived
Well, a week ago we had snow followed by some nice 80 degree sunny days ... and then the weekend rolled around you guessed it ... We rolled out in upper 40(s) temperature and dreary mist which turned to drizzle then back to just the normal dreary/windy day ...
I had a 20 minute effort at a good intensity and some shorter higher intensity efforts ... but it was just not a great day to be motivated for "Crankin' it Up" ...
Mira & Jo in the foreground and Susan & Doug behind them
(Mira, Susan, & Doug are doing Ironman @ Kentucky and &
Mira & Jo are doing the Kansas 70.3 -Half Ironman)
John, Jo, Karmon & Me (David) - note the wet cold looking pavement
(John & Karmon are training for the Disney World 70.3 Half Ironman &
Jo is training for the Kansas 70.3 -Half Ironman & I am training for the Idaho Ironman)
NOTE: I was outnumbered 4 to 1 (John, Jo, & Karmon on Cervelo P3(s) & Mira on
a P2 and I was on the LONELY QR Lucero
Mira with that "Is it ever going to get warm & sunny" look
(Mira is training for the the Kansas 70.3 -Half Ironman & the Ironman @ Kentucky)

Sunday - more of the same
Even though it was supposed to be better on Sunday ... it wasn't ... it was even more dreary and cold than on Saturday ... Met Jo to ride and then got a distress call from Karmon that she was having bike problems ...
These photos show the dreary/cold/windy day
Jo & I found this pair (Emily & Karmon) waiting on Jeremy to get his car to rescue
Karmon's bike ... (little did we know that in a few days that this area would be under several feet of water)
Emily dressed for the cold

Karmon with wounded bike ... (look closely at rear tire)
Jo wishing for warmer weather
