8 mile NLR River Trail Run with Alex
Ok sports fans ... it was dang cold at 4pm Thursday (1/17) in Arkansas. Wind Chill was 25deg ... but hey it was sunny (before sunset).
I went to the Burns Park Ski Lake (by the Dog Park) with Alex. We had the 3-wheeler so that I could push Alex while I ran my 8 miles. Alex needed more stuff to stay warm since he was just a passenger. He had a toboggin hat, 2 pairs of gloves, a sweatshirt, heavy coat, and a few towels for extra warmth.
We averaged 9:20 miles for 8 miles including a few hills and me turning the 3-wheeler around and pulling it backward so that it shielded Alex from the wind which was blowing quite briskly.
It would have been easy to blow off the training session in now ... but Ironman Coeur d' Alene (IMCDA) in Idaho is coming up in June ... so I need to stay on track to be successful there ...
Below are few photos from the run
Before we started Fort Roots cliffs in background
Arkansas River in background And yes we did run beyond sunset ...

That's priceless, thanks for sharing!

Did you really wear five layers of clothes for the 1/18 Saturday ride? Looks like a lot of weight and bulk to me. Glad you enjoyed your ride.

Brian, yes I did wear 5 layers of clothes but if you look at the Saturday ride photo of me ... you will see that there was not a lot of bulk to all of those layers ...

DWonn,
Great photos! I have to join you again soon out on the bike. It has been so cold. I still need directions to download new songs to my ipod. Thanks for the uca info. I did get on the Pulaski Tech site and actually went to a 11:00 class. Will find out Monday if the registrar will let me in the class. Later, Jan
